Welcome to Mama Gertie’s Hideaway Campground

If a western North Carolina mountain camping experience is what you’re looking for, Mama Gertie’s is the place for you! We offer full hookup RV sites for motorhomes, travel trailers, truck campers, and 5th wheels. We also have a small number of water and electric-only sites for pop-ups and micro-campers or those not requiring a sewer hookup. 

*Our glamping safari tents and cabins are now available for reservations! 

We are conveniently located near the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore Estate, Asheville, Black Mountain, and many local recreational options. *We are open year-round.

*Our Mountain View RV sites and Safari Tents are closed from approximately November 1st through March 31st and we have limited availability for cabin rentals. Please call our reservations desk at 828.686.4258 if you have questions.

We’ve been to Mama Gertie’s twice and it’s been great! Super clean and well kept. The best bathrooms I’ve ever seen at a campsite! They even have a little store to grab anything you may have forgotten. Friendly staff and good prices. We will definitely be back!

We tried to get a spot here but they were booked. Drove by anyways to take a look. They were so friendly and had a gentleman take us around in a golf cart to see all their campground.

It is truly amazing! Already booked our stay here for next year. Everything was so clean and staff went above and beyond to help us even though we weren’t guests…can’t wait to stay here!

We were able to stay up top for a short weekend. There has been great detail in the layout and flow of the campground. We have a long truck and 38 ft tag and had no problems getting in and out. Everything was maintained beautifully and kept clean. The bath houses were beautifully designed. Never seen bath houses that nice. The campground is conveniently located to the interstate, however you can not hear any road noise. Definitely would put this on our list to revisit.
